Hiya!
My name is Max and I'm the Tech behind Tranzcend Nails.
I've been in the nail industry for almost 2 years, and I have a Certificate III in Nail Technology.
I have done work in both Melbourne and Sydney, and I'm excited to be starting my own home salon!
I specalise in Gel services, including gel manicures, structured manicures, extensions, and nail art.
My favourite nail colours are anything pink or sparkly. I love cat eye and chrome designs, goth, y2k, junk nails, and anything fun and whimsical!

My Space
My home salon is located in Penrith, NSW.
It's a short 15 minute walk from Penrith train station, and there is parking avaliable on site.
My studio is cosy and comfortable, with ample ventilation.
I pride myself on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, and I can offer a range of figet toys, blankets and hot water bottles, headphones, access to a bluetooth speaker and video projector, refreshments, and much more to ensure your comfort.
My studio is a safe space for queer, trans and gender-non-conforming folk, minorities, disabled people, and anyone else who has been made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable in conventional salons. I, myself am queer and transgender and have found so much comfort in working in spaces with like-minded folk. I hope I can do the same for you.~

Manicures
No Polish Manicure
While all my services focus on maintaining good nail health, the No Polish Manicure focuses more specifically on the health and care of your natural nails, with no gel or extensions applied.
This service includes the removal of dead skin and excess cuticle using russian manicure techniques, followed by shaping of the natural nail. You will also recieve a hand massage and some cuticle oil, to leave your hands moistured, healthy and refreshed.

Gel Polish Manicure
The Gel Polish Manicure is a classic manicure option, providing a refined look for clients that don't require a structured manicure service.
This service includes the removal of dead skin and excess cuticle using russian manicure techniques, followed by shaping of the natural nail. One layer of base coat is applied, followed by a two coats of a colour of your choosing, and finished with a layer of top coat. You will also recieve a hand massage and some cuticle oil, to leave your hands moistured, healthy and refreshed.
Nail art can be added to this service, but must be booked in combination with the manicure service.

Gel Removal
The Gel Removal service includes the complete removal of any Gel Polish Manicure products on the nail.
This service includes the safe removal of most of the gel product using an electronic file, and then the application of acetone to the remaining base layer of gel. Acetone facilitaes a quick and damage free removal of any remaining product. The nail surface is then gently buffed to remove any remaining gel. While shaping of the nail and buffing of the surface may be included, this service does not include any cuticle care. For added cuticle care, please book a No Polish Manicure in combination with your removal.
You will also recieve a hand massage and some cuticle oil, to leave your hands moistured, healthy and refreshed.

Luxe Exfoliation
Luxe Exfoliation can be booked in combiation with any Manicure or Structured Manicure services.
This add on includes the application of a hand and arm scrub to gently cleanse and exfoliate your hands and lower arms.
This service is ideal if you suffer from dry or flakey skin, or simply wish to indulge in some extra luxurious care.
Please note this add on will require you to wash your hands and lower arms in a sink basin.

Structured Manicures / Gel Extensions
Builder Gel Structured Manicure
Builder Gel is an excellent option for clients who are aiming to grow their natural nails longer. Builder Gel is applied in a way that gives the nail more structure, providing more strength than a classic manicure, and supporting the growth of longer nails.
This service does not artifically extend the nails. This service can only be performed on whatever length the client has currently.
This service includes the removal of dead skin and excess cuticle using russian manicure techniques, followed by shaping of the natural nail. Builder Gel is then applied to give the nail structure and strength. To complete the manicure, two coats of colour and a top coat are applied. You will also recieve a hand massage and some cuticle oil, to leave your hands moistured, healthy and refreshed.
Nail art can be added to this service, but must be booked in combination with the Builder Gel Structured Manicure service.

Gel Extensions
Gel Extensions provide a great solution for clients that are seeking immediate structure and nail length. Full coverage tips are applied to the nail and come in a variety of shapes, lengths and sizes.
As well as allowing for the immediate addition of length where the client may not have any natural length, full coverage gel extensions also provide extra support to the nail, as the shape of the tip is specially structured to provide strength and protection over weak areas.
This service requires any natural length to be shortened in order to apply full coverage tips.
This service includes the removal of dead skin and excess cuticle using russian manicure techniques, followed by shaping of the natural nail. The full coverage extension tips are then sized and applied. To complete the manicure, two coats of colour and a top coat are applied. You will also recieve a hand massage and some cuticle oil, to leave your hands moistured, healthy and refreshed.
Nail art can be added to this service, but must be booked in combination with the Gel Extension service.

Structured Manicure/Gel Extension Refill
Structured Manicures and Gel Extensions can be refilled, meaning that rather than doing a complete removal and reapplication, the bulk of the gel can be filed down and restructured.
A refill allows your nails to stay supported as they grow, preventing breakage, and saving time in the appointment.
Refills are strongly recommended once every 3-4 weeks, depending on your nail type. Any longer risks damage to the nail, as the stress point of the nail wil no longer be protected by the structured gel.
This service includes filing down 80%-90% of the existing gel and assessing for any damage or lifting. Any lifted areas of gel are removed and the nail is reshaped. Following this is the removal of dead skin and excess cuticle using russian manicure techniques. Fresh Builder Gel is then applied. To complete the manicure, two coats of colour and a top coat are applied. You will also recieve a hand massage and some cuticle oil, to leave your hands moistured, healthy and refreshed.
Nail art can be added to this service, but must be booked in combination with the Structured Manicure/Gel Extension Refill service.

Structured Manicure/Gel Extension Removal
The Structured Manicure/Gel Extension Removal service must be selected when removing structured and extended nail products, as this allows for the extra time needed to remove thicker gel products safely.

Acetone facilitaes a quick and damage free removal of any remaining product. The nail surface is then gently buffed to remove any remaining gel. French Tips
Add french tips to your manicure for an elevated and timeless look.
French tips mimic the natural edge of the nail and can be customised to different styles and colour.
This nail art option can also be selected for other super duper simple designs, for example, a single dot on all nails.

Complex Design
Complex designs can feature any skill that I personally am able to do. This can include design elements on all fingers, time consuming techniques, multiple complex nail art techniques on every finger, 3D gel, complex shapes and hand drawn details.

FAQ
I’m not sure what each service means? I’m confused about the products you’ll use and what I’ll actually be getting from the service.
I work with Gel products. It’s the type of polish that ‘dries’ in the UV/LED lamp.
I don’t use Acrylic or normal polish.
All of my manicure and builder gel/gel extension services include cuticle care, nail shaping, application of cuticle oil and a hand massage.
I use russian manicure techniques, where the electronic file is used to exfoliate the nail. These services are waterless.
Removals are just the removal of gel products by filing down the majority of the product and safely soaking off the rest with acetone. Nothing more, nothing less.
What does each nail art option include? I’m not sure what to book to get what I want.

What’s the deal with the client forms? Why can’t I just book without completing it?
The client forms are intended to help me perform the best possible service for you. It is important that you inform me of relevant conditions, physical differences, or injuries to your nails that may cause me to change my approach to your service.
Allegies and sensitivies are also important to disclose, as I may have to use alternative products for your service.
Disclosing relevant information such as this protects both me and my clients.

I can’t tolerate the nail file/electronic file/having my cuticles cut etc. Can I still get my nails done?
Yes! HOWEVER I will assess the situation and let you know if your preference will potentially cause issues with your service.
Some aspects of the service, for example the use of the efile to remove dead skin, and cutting the cuticles, are actually very important to improve the longevity of your nail product.
If the potential effects are acceptable to you, we can continue with the modified service.
Please notify me ahead of your appointment time if you will need modifications to your service. All modifications will be agreed upon in writing.
How do you clean your tools? Why is this important?
All of my tools are either sterilisable, or are only used on one client. Files and tools are never reused on different clients.
Sterilisation is a legal requirement for nail salons under the Public Health Regulations of 2022.
Sterilisation prevents the spead of infections, fungus, and blood borne illnesses.
General cleaning is performed in my home salon space, and then tools are taken for sterilisation at a dedicated salon autoclave (sterilisation machine).
